Why Are We Doing This?
Dave and Jennifer G. have been creating music together for over 3o years and during that time have raised 3 wonderful children (and now have 2 grandchildren). To celebrate their musical partnership and friendship and to leave some type of positive and creative "digital legacy", we have launched this vehicle to encourage participation and awareness for the global challenges faced by all of humanity.
Why Should You Participate in this Project?
We are believers in the power of communication and community and in our current virtual world, we feel that creating a community of like minded people can be powerful. We want to attract a wide array of opinions to this virtual meeting place where there will be the common thread of a love for the music of the Grateful Dead as an unifying attraction. All members will have access to discussions regarding the creation of the songs as well as a members page where everyone can post images and information about themselves and their families.
If you are a musician, the site will give you a great place to interact with other talented musicians and stimulate your creativity by bringing your unique skills to create compelling versions of a well known discography.
We intend to record every song from every album the Grateful Dead released re-imagined by the collection of musician members of this community.
Musicians will be vetted by Dave G. so that we have a full complement of unique and talented individuals to complete the recording process.
We will also use some virtual recording tools to facilitate communication amongst the musicians as they record their parts.
All musicians will be able to have links to their personal or professional web sites to help with their virtual profile.
Our hope is that we will be able to raise consciousness and create a virtual community dedicated to getting everyone to think globally in light of the challenges faced by all of us,
This project is dedicated to our children Jenaya, Kiara, and Joshua
and
our grandchildren Aurora and Asher.
