Grateful World Music

We would like to invite everyone to participate in a very important project

As parents and grandparents, what kind of world are leaving for future generations?

Many feel somewhat at a loss to know what to do about all of the challenges that we seem to have including global climate change, hunger, and wars etc,

For many of us creating and listening to music has always been a good solution to problems so we decided to use music once again to organize communication about our world and create a community of individuals determined to improve it.

Grateful World Music will be "dead"icated to our children and grandchildren and hopefully will be targeted at raising awareness about the future of our planet.

We chose covering Dead songs as a way to get the attention of a large committed audience and since we are  longtime deadheads and love re-interpreting their music, it seemed like a really good option.

The project will feature cover versions of every studio Grateful Dead song released on studio (and possibly live)  recordings but re-recorded using ethnic instrumentation from countries around the world.

Each song which will be produced and released in the order that they were originally released by the Grateful Dead  and will be re-created in a unique style utilizing some instrumentation from a specific location in the world.

Along with releasing the cover song, we will also create a website page for each song dedicated to that location which will highlight issues and challenges specific to that location.  There will be a discussion forum that hopefully will foster on-going communication.

We will release the music to all the usual digital download sites (obtaining all needed mechanical licenses and paying appropriate royalties) and will create a charity deadicated to supporting global initiatives that address climate, food, and refugee challenges.
